Delta-to-add-free-streaming-entertainment-to-nearly-all of it's flight's

Maybe they’re trying to ease the stress of flying or perhaps they’re just trying to keep up with competition, but an increasing number of airlines are tossing out customer perks this year. They’re not much, but we’ll take them, and Delta is the latest carrier to offer an appreciated amenity: free entertainment.

The airline plans to provide free, streaming in-flight entertainment on nearly all of its fleet starting July 1st. Passengers will be able to stream TV shows and movies on their own devices or on the seat-back screens. Their options include hundreds of shows and movies and thousands of songs.
In a press release, the company said:
“The only thing better than operating the world’s largest in-flight entertainment-equipped fleet is providing it free to all our guests,” said Tim Mapes, Delta’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “Our commitment is to provide Delta customers with the industry’s best on-board services – period.”
Delta is the only U.S. carrier to offer personal, on-demand entertainment at every seat on all long-haul international flights...
Entertainment options will vary by aircraft type and route.
Other airlines have recently been adding perks like this, too. Earlier this year, United brought back free snacks and American Airlines announced they were expanding their entertainment offerings. These amenities may not be groundbreaking, but they’re something.
